Version 1.0 — effective 13 October 2026
NeuroLab is a surgical training centre for the head and neck specialties (neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery, ENT, plastic surgery, dermatologic surgery, ophthalmology and dentistry), offering hands-on training on anatomical specimens and simulators. These Terms apply to course registrations, to the hire of the centre by companies, scientific societies and PCOs, and to the use of www.neurolab.edu.gr. Part A contains general terms; Part B course registration; Part C laboratory rules and safety; Part D anatomical specimens; Part E hire of the centre; Part F recordings and course material.
Part A — General Terms
- Contract. A registration or booking is binding when we confirm it in writing after receipt of the required payment or signed booking form.
- Prices and payment. Prices are in euro. Course fees for individuals include VAT where applicable; prices for organisations exclude VAT. Payment is made by bank transfer against our invoice; the website does not take online payments. Invoices are issued through myDATA.
- Liability. We provide training with the care of a professional training provider. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the course or hire concerned, and we are not liable for indirect loss, except where the law does not allow such limitation. Nothing limits liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury. Training at NeuroLab does not confer any qualification or right to practise beyond the certificate of attendance.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including unavailability of anatomical specimens for reasons outside our control, epidemics or government measures.
- Personal data. See our Privacy Policy.
- Governing law and jurisdiction. Greek law; courts of Athens, without prejudice to consumers' mandatory rights. Consumers may also refer disputes to the Greek Consumer Ombudsman.
Part B — Course Registration
- Eligibility. Courses are open only to licensed physicians, dentists, residents and other healthcare professionals or students meeting the criteria stated on the course page. Proof of status may be requested; ineligible registrations are cancelled and refunded.
- What the fee includes. As stated on the course page: typically tuition, workstation and specimen use, personal protective equipment, course material, refreshments and certificate of attendance. Travel and accommodation are not included.
- No right of withdrawal. Under Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU as transposed in Law 2251/1994, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to courses held on a specific date. Cancellations follow the policy below.
- Cancellation by the participant. Unless the course page states otherwise: more than 45 days before the course — refund less an administrative fee of €50; 45 to 15 days — 50% refund; less than 15 days or no-show — no refund. Because specimens are reserved specifically for each workstation, these periods are longer than for ordinary events. A participant may transfer the registration free of charge to an eligible colleague until 7 days before the course.
- Cancellation or change by NeuroLab. If a course is cancelled (for example for insufficient registrations or unavailability of specimens) the fee is refunded in full, or the participant may transfer to another date. We are not liable for travel or accommodation costs. Faculty and programme may change.
- Certificates and CME. Certificates of attendance require full attendance. Where a course is accredited, credits are awarded by the accrediting body.
Part C — Laboratory Rules and Safety
- Safety briefing. All participants attend the safety briefing and follow the instructions of NeuroLab staff and faculty at all times.
- Protective equipment. Participants wear the protective equipment provided (gown, gloves, mask, eye protection) in the laboratory and do not take it outside the laboratory area.
- Sharps and exposure incidents. Sharps are handled and disposed of only as instructed. Any cut, needle-stick, splash or other exposure must be reported immediately to staff so that first aid and follow-up can be provided.
- Health advisory. We recommend that participants are vaccinated against hepatitis B and tetanus. Specimens may be preserved with chemical fixatives; participants who are pregnant or have respiratory sensitivities should consult their physician and inform us before the course. Persons under 18 are not admitted to the laboratory.
- Conduct. No food or drink in the laboratory; no removal of any material, instrument or tissue; use of equipment only as instructed. We may exclude, without refund, anyone who disregards safety rules or behaves disrespectfully.
- Equipment. Instruments and devices are often provided by industry partners. Participants handle them with care and are liable for damage caused by intent or gross negligence.
Part D — Anatomical Specimens
- Origin. Anatomical specimens are supplied by Science Care, a whole-body donation programme accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), and come only from donors who gave documented informed consent to donation for medical education and research. Each specimen is accompanied by the required documentation, including serological screening, and is imported in accordance with the applicable rules.
- Dignity. Specimens are used exclusively for medical education and are treated at all times with dignity and respect. Donor identity is never disclosed to participants.
- Photography. Photographing, filming or sharing images of specimens is prohibited, except recordings made by NeuroLab for educational purposes under Part F, which never show identifying features.
- Disposal. After use, specimens are handled and disposed of by licensed contractors in accordance with the applicable law.
Part E — Hire of the Centre
- Scope. Companies, scientific societies, universities and PCOs may hire the centre (hands-on stations, master stations, auditorium, audiovisual and streaming facilities, specimens, staff) as set out in our proposal.
- Booking and payment. A booking is confirmed by a 50% deposit; the balance is due 14 days before the course. Specimen orders are placed on confirmation and are invoiced in full once ordered.
- Cancellation by the hirer. More than 90 days before — deposit refunded less 10% administrative fee; 90 to 31 days — 50% of the hire fee; 30 days or less — 100%. Specimens, consumables and third-party costs already ordered are charged in full in every case.
- Responsibilities of the hirer. The hirer is responsible for the scientific programme, faculty, participant eligibility and, where applicable, accreditation, and for compliance with the MedTech Europe Code (educational grants to organisations, no direct sponsorship of individual healthcare professionals) and the EOF transparency rules. Equipment brought by the hirer or its partners remains at their risk and must be delivered and collected at agreed times.
- Laboratory rules. Parts C and D apply to all persons attending a hired course; the hirer ensures that its participants and faculty comply.
Part F — Recordings and Course Material
- Recording and streaming. Sessions may be recorded or streamed for educational purposes. Recordings focus on the surgical field and never show specimen-identifying features. Participants are informed in advance and may ask not to appear on camera.
- Intellectual property. Course material and recordings belong to NeuroLab or the faculty and may be used by participants only for personal study. Participants may not record sessions themselves.
